You exercise your body to stay in shape, so why not your face? Facial exercises can help lift, firm, tone and reduce wrinkles and effectively give you a natural face lift by increasing blood circulation and allowing more oxygen to reach the cells of the skin.
To tighten up the cheeks, take your index and middle finger and press tightly against both cheeks while smiling with your lips closed tightly. To tighten up the skin under the chin and banish turkey necks for good, sit in a chair and tilt your head back and forth towards the ceiling.
Keep your mouth closed and carry out the exercise while making a chewing motion. To counter crow’s feet, drooping eyelids and eye bags, lift your eyebrows as high as you can, open your eyes as wide as possible and frown at the same time. You’ll probably feel silly doing them, but perform these exercise for 20 minutes, six times a week and you will start to notice improvements.
Diet: Your diet is just as important for your face as it is for your body. A healthy, balanced diet will improve your health from the inside out, firming the skin and decreasing inflammation.
Ensure your diet includes fruit and vegetables such as pineapple, grapes, berries and broccoli as well as food high in Omega 3 such as salmon and walnuts. Avoid sugar, caffeine and processed food, which are known to induce wrinkles, and as always, drink plenty of water to flush out those toxins. Also make sure you get enough sleep for best results.
Brush your face: Another way to achieve a natural face lift is to dry brush your face. Brushing your face has many benefits, including improving blood circulation to the skin which improves tone, removing dead cells and toxins and assisting with lymphatic drainage. Use the brush in long upward strokes while your skin is dry and clean.
Start at your décolletage and neck area and work your way up to your forehead, performing about five strokes per area.
Sugar and eggs: Not just great for making meringues, a mixture of sugar and eggs is also a delicious way to take years off your face. Eggs are packed full of nutrients such as essential amino acids and proteins which have the effect of smoothing and toning the skin.
